betting on the health of private, mid-market America. But if you think a 10 percent BDC requires
careful management, the next category on the spectrum is a completely different level of danger.

which is a fund focused heavily on semiconductor stocks, has been paying out between 30 cents and
50 cents per share per week. On a trailing 12 month basis, that's roughly $21 a share in distributions.
The annualized yields on these yield max and defiance funds can hit 50 percent, 75 percent,
even soaring over 100 percent. If I'm an everyday investor, I see 100 percent yield and think,
I can double my money in a year just by sitting on the couch. And that is exactly how uneducated
investors destroy their portfolios. We have to issue a severe unequivocal warning here.
Distribution yield, looked at in isolation, is a completely fabricated, meaningless metric
if the underlying ETF suffers from terminal price decay. We need to completely deconstruct how
these funds actually operate. They aren't just buying Nvidia and handing you the dividends,
they use synthetic option strategies, breakdown the mechanics of a covered coal strategy,
and why it causes terminal price decay. Let's use a highly simplified example. Imagine you own
one share of a volatile tech stock, currently trading at $100. It pays no traditional dividend.
To generate income, you sell a call option to another investor. You are selling them the right to
buy your share for $105 at the end of the week. For granting them this right, they pay you a $2 cash
premium up front. Okay, so I instantly have $2 in my pocket, that's my weekly dividend. Exactly.

Wait, so even though the stock is worth $130 on the open market, I am legally forced to sell it
to them for 105. I miss out on all that upside. This is the fatal flaw of these hyper yield funds
in volatile markets. You capture 100% of the downside risk when the underlying stock crashes,
but you aggressively cap your upside potential when the stock rallies. Oh man, that's brutal.
Over the course of a volatile year, the stock goes down, taking your principle with it,
then the stock recovers, but your upside is capped so your principle doesn't recover with it.
Over time, the share price of the ETF grinds lower and lower in a staircase pattern. That is terminal
price decay. So if I buy a fund for $100, and it pays me 100% yield, giving me $100 in cash over
the year, but the price of the ETF decays down to $0, my total return is zero. I made nothing.
It is actually vastly worse than zero because you likely had to pay ordinary income tax on those massive
monthly distributions. You suffered a catastrophic capital loss paid taxes on the illusion of income
and destroyed your wealth. Total return price appreciation plus distributions is the only metric
that dictates whether you are making money. So I have to ask the obvious question. Both
Garth dividend and stock market beast utilize these funds. Is there any wine legitimate place for a
weekly paying ETF in a serious income portfolio or are they purely speculative gambling tools?
If you study how sophisticated investors use them and both sources align on this methodology,
they are never used as foundational holdings. They belong in a tiny, highly quarantined,
purely speculative bucket. The strategy is to use the exorbitant weekly payouts as rapid cash generation
and then immediately funnel that cash away from the decaying asset and reinvest it into safer
core holdings like the Vanguard dividend appreciation ETF, VIG, or SHD.
It's the rocket fuel analogy. If you put a tiny drop of rocket fuel in your engine,
you might get a temporary burst of acceleration to buy more shares of Procter & Gamble.
But if you try to build your entire engine out of rocket fuel, if you make yield max funds 50% of
your portfolio, it will inevitably explode and leave you with nothing. A perfect summary of the risk.
So we are left with a massive portfolio construction problem. BDCs carry significant credit risk,
weekly ETFs suffer from terminal price decay. But traditional S&P index funds are starved
out at a 1.15% yield. If we can't find the perfect balance in the standard stock market,
well where do we go? We have to step entirely outside traditional equities and look for structural
market inefficiencies. This is where true diversification happens. You want to introduce assets into your
portfolio that march to the beat of entirely different economic drivers. Let's move to segment 4.

to buy it again. The demand rushes back in and the price of the bond surges from $90 back up to its
par value of $100. Exactly. You captured the massive 6.69% yield while you wait. And then you reap
the capital appreciation on the back end when the price recovers. Nicholas Fonseca projected 1%
to 2% forward returns over the next 1 to 3 years, purely from that price recovery on top of the
yield. It is a brilliant way to exploit the rigid rules that Wall Street institutions are forced to
play by. The everyday investor doesn't have a compliance department forcing them to sell at the
bottom. We can exploit that. Right now, nearly 50% of angel's composition is in consumer discretionary
and materials, mostly US assures. It's a phenomenal diversifier. But let's step away from paper debt
entirely. Let's look at the physical world. The second overlook tool is the pro shares Dow Jones
Brookfield Global Infrastructure ETF ticker TOLZ. If there is one conceptual framework I want the listener
to internalize from this entire deep dive, it is the fundamental distinction this ETF makes and how it
views the infrastructure space. On the toll road, not the construction company. When retail investors
hear the word infrastructure, they naturally gravitate toward the companies pouring the concrete,

But Simeon Hyman from ProShare has pointed out a massive multi-decade secular tailwind for this
fund that connects directly back to our total energy discussion earlier. Data centers.
The global build out of artificial intelligence is fundamentally an energy problem.
The massive server farms required to train and run AI models demand an absolutely staggering amount
of electricity. The existing power grids are straining under the load. And who owns the high
voltage transmission lines that carry that power from the generation plants to the data centers?
The company's inside TOLZ. They don't have to take the multi-billion dollar risk of trying to build a
better AI model than open AI or Google. They don't care who wins the AI software war. They just
sit there and collect higher and higher transmission tools as the electricity grid gets maxed out by
all the competitors. It's the ultimate pick and shovel play. And from a macroeconomic standpoint,
these assets are intensely inflation resistant. If global inflation runs hot,
toll roads and pipeline operators usually have clauses embedded directly into their contracts that
automatically adjust their pricing upward based on the consumer price index. There was also a massive
administrative benefit to TOLZ that the source material highlighted. A lot of energy infrastructure
in the US is structured as master-limited partnerships or MLPs. For the listener who hasn't dealt
with an MLP, why are they such a nightmare come tax season? Because an MLP is a pass-through entity.
When you own an individual MLP stock, you don't get a standard 1099DIV form in January. You receive
