Oh, a huge bite. But section 12.56 contracts get a magical 6040 split. Under the US tax code,
section 12.56 contracts are treated uniquely. Regardless of how long the fund actually held the option
contract, even if they bought and sold on the exact same day, 60% of the profits are taxed at the
much lower long term capital gains rate, which is huge. It really is only 40% is taxed at the higher
short term ordinary income rate. By simply changing the specific type of option contract the fund uses,
they dramatically increase the amount of money you actually keep after tax season,
which finally brings us back to the 40% yield we tease at the very beginning. The extreme edge of
this new frontier. Here we go. The CHPY ETF, this is a semi conductor focused income fund.

is $15. You only pay capital gains tax when you eventually sell the fund or if your cost basis
hit zero. These funds have basically taken institutional level volatility harvesting and aggressive tax
deferral and packaged it for retail investors. But the systemic danger is still there. If they are
returning capital, the NAV, the net asset value, which is the actual combined price of the stocks
